#PursuingJustice
In 1973, a catastrophic fire at the Summerland complex on the Isle of Man resulted in the loss of 50 lives and numerous injuries. This tragic event has permanently altered the lives of those affected.

Following a short inquiry, a verdict of 'death by misadventure' was decided.

The definition of death by misadventure is the recorded manner of death for an accidental death caused by a risk taken voluntarily.

The aims for our campaign are:
-
To overturn the 'death by misadventure' verdict. We believe that nobody who entered the complex that fateful evening believed that they were taking any risks.
-
To ensure that there is a fitting memorial on the Summerland site. Read more about the current state of the site here.
